Other Site Characteristics

Das vorgeschlagene Natura 2000 Gebiet "Tiroler Lechtal" ist ein kalkalpines Flußtal mit Dominanz der einigermaßen naturnahen Gewässerführung des Lech. Breite Auwaldbereiche von Weichholzau, Grauerlenau und trockener Kiefernaue säumen den Wildfluß und prägen das Talbild. Gewässerverwerfungen sind aufgrund des breit ausgeprägten Flußbettes noch möglich. Die montanen und subalpinen Bereiche an den Talflanken des Lechtales sind zum Teil sehr schroff und unzugänglich. Daher ist auch hier eine relativ große Naturnähe gegeben. Auch dort, wo die Landschaft seit Jahrhunderten bewirtschaftet worden ist, konnte sich aufgrund der extensiven Land- und Forstwirtschaft eine reichhaltige Fauna und Flora ansiedeln.

4.2 Quality and importance

Die Verzahnung von extensiv genutzem Kulturland mit dem in noch großem Ausmaß vorhandenen Naturland sind das wesentliche Charakteristikum des vorgeschlagenen Natura 2000 Gebietes "Tiroler Lechtal". Im besonderen Ausmaß ist hier die relativ ursprüngliche Dynamik des Wildflusses Lech zu nennen.

6.3 Conservation measures (optional)

Managmentmaßnahmen für die Erhaltung des Gebietes wurden im Rahmen der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit zur Errichtung eines Nationalparkes von der Abteilung Umweltschutz zwar angesprochen, ein schriftlich fixierter Managmentplan, der von allen beteiligten Personen mitgetragen wird, besteht derzeit noch nicht. Dies wird Teil der nächsten Phase sein müssen.
