Other Site Characteristics

Orographisch rechtseitige Berghänge des Klostertales am Rande des Südlichen Lechquellengebirges. Vielfältige, artenreiche Waldkomplexe mit Laub- und Nadelwäldern. Hoher Alt- und Totholzanteil. Verzahnung mit artenreichen Magerwiesen und Magerweiden, Fels- und Schuttlebensräumen, Wildbächen, hochstaudenreichen Lawinenbahnen, Kalktrockenrasen, Kalkniedermooren etc.

4.2 Quality and importance

Naturnahe Wälder mit einem hohen Alt- und Totholzanteil. Enorme Bedeutung für die Avifauna des Berggebietes (Eulen, Spechte, Felsenbrüter) sowie für zahlreiche unterschiedliche Waldgesellschaften (verschiedene Buchenwaldgesellschaften, Ahorn-Lindenwälder, Fichten-Tannen-Buchenwälder, Fichten-Tannenwäldern, Fichtenwälder, Rotföhrenwälder, Latschengebüsche, etc.) und die darin vorkommenden Tier- und Pflanzenarten (Fledermäuse, xylobionte Käfer, etc.).
