Other Site Characteristics

Dry heath and shifting dunes. Source area for important Campine rivers. Through mine subsidence parts of the area have become much wetter. Well developed alluvial forests and meadowlands are found within the valley.

Very important site (military area) for heathland and bog habitats. Habitat of Annex II Odonata species.
