  • NP: in case that a habitat type no longer exists in the site enter: x (optional)
  • Cover: decimal values can be entered
  • Caves: for habitat types 8310, 8330 (caves) enter the number of caves if estimated surface is not available.
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation)

Other Site Characteristics

Terrace landscape created by gradual cutting by the Meuse and its tributaries. The most important ecological values are found in the continental ancient woodland sites on lime with distinct spring flora and deep stream valleys with fast-flowing water. In places where lime outcrops, species rich grasslands (very locally with orchids) occur.

4.2 Quality and importance

Large site with important woodland habitats and valuable rivers with floating vegetation of Ranunculus. Small-scale agricultural landschape, extending over the border with the Netherlands and Walonia. Several species of Annex II, in particular Bats.
