Other Site Characteristics

Le site est un lieu majeur d'une des vallées les plus encaissées de l'Ardenne, présentant une très grande richesse en éléments montagnards et s'étendant du pied du barrage de Robertville jusqu'à Bévercé en incluant la vallée du Bayehon depuis le plateau des Hautes-Fagnes jusqu'à la confluence avec la Warche.

4.2 Quality and importance

Le site accueille de très belles érablières de ravin (9180*) et des forêts alluviales de l'Alno-Padion (91E0*) à la flore remarquable. A noter la présence d'éboulis siliceux (8150) d'une richesse exceptionnelle en bryophytes et la présence de nombreuses espèces de fougères et de lichens. Le site comprend des fragments de landes sèches (4030) et tourbeuses (4010) ainsi que la genévrière (5130) du Bayehon. Les espèces d'intérêt communautaire sont notamment représentées par la bondrée apivore ainsi que le pic noir.
