Other Site Characteristics

Low montainous area with diverse relief. It contains mostly broadleaved forests of Cephalanthero-Fagion, and mixed oak forests.

4.2 Quality and importance

Natural broad-leaved xeromesophillous and xerotherme forests. The single location of the Balkan endemic Aesculus hippocastanum forest for the country. Seminatural xeromesophillous grasslands are fragmentarily presented.
