Der Adlergrund liegt zwischen Rügen und Bornholm. Riff (LRT 1170) mit Makrophyten in den Flachwassergebieten und großflächigen Miesmuschelbänken bis in 25m Tiefe.

4.2 Quality and importance

Großflächige u. weitgehend zusammenhängende Riffstruktur in der Deutschen Ostsee von hoher morpholog. u. biologischer Diversität. Bedeutenster küstenferner Makrophytenstandort (Braunalgen). Großflächige, zusammenhängende Miesmuschelbänke. Vorkommen v. Schweinsw. Wichtig. Nahrungsg. f. überwint. Meeresenten u. Gryllteisten. In strengen Wintern wichtig. Ausweichgeb. f. Meeresenten d. Pomm. Bucht. Verschiedene Formen von Endmoränengabeln und Kerbstauchmoränen anzutreffen, die auf Gletscheraktivitäten mit gegensinniger Vorstoßrichtung schließen lassen.
