Strukturreiche, störungsarme Küstenlandschaft, eng miteinander verzahnte terrestische-und marine Küstenlebensräume sind Rast- und Reproduktionsraum für eine Vielzahl von Vogelarten

4.2 Quality and importance

Die herausragnde Bedeutung des Gebietes liegt in seiner Funktion als Mauser-, Rast-, Sammel- und Überwinterungsgebiet für Wasservögel, aber auch als Reproduktionsraum für zahlreiche Küstenvogelarten. Die Bodden werden traditionell im Rahmen der kleinen Küstenfischerei mit Reusen, Stellnetzen bewirtschftet. Grünlandwirtschaft auf Küstenüberflutungsmooren Große Brackwasserlagunen die von jungpleistozänen Grundmoränen und holozänen Sedimenten begrenzt werden.
