Other Site Characteristics

Vermoortes Urstomtal der Warnow, mit reich strukturierten Gewässern, Röhrichten, Wälder, Grünländern, Pfeifengraswiesen und kalkreichen Niedermooren mit einer Vielzahl von wertvollen Arten.

4.2 Quality and importance

Natürliche und naturnahe Fließgewässerstrecke mir reich strukturierten und störungsarmen Uferlebensräumen, die internationaler Bedeutung für brütende und rastende Wasservögel haben. frühe Besiedlung und Mähweidenutzung auf Niedermoor mit Handtorfstichen die ab 1920 bis 1969 maschinell abgebaut wurden. Wiesenentwässerung durch Gräben. Das Warnowtal geht auf eine radikale Spalte im Eis des Pommerschen Gletschers der Weichsel- Kaltzeit zurück. Es ist ein typisches jungpleistozänes Talmoor.
