300-500 m breite Sumpf-Niederung die vom Rhin (hier schiffbar) durchflossen wird, ausgedehnte Erlenbruchwälder und extensiv genutzte und aufgelassene Naßwiesen begleiten den Rhin

4.2 Quality and importance

Sehr hoher Anteil FFH-LRT und Artenvorkommen, wichtiger Biotopverbund, u.a. für den Fischotter und Biber nach Norden in die Rheinsberger Gewässer, nach Osten über die Adderlake in den Harenzacken sowie nach Süden und Westen in das Rhinluch.
