Other Site Characteristics

Hochmoorkomplex, der weitgehend abgetorft wurde. Durch umfangreiche Wiedervernässungsmaßnahmen entwickeln sich ausgedehnte Hochmoorregenerationsstadien. Ergänzung zu 3.3.: Im Gebiet gibt es bedeutsame Vorkommen folgender Vogelarten: Baumfalke, Bekassine, Bruchwasserläufer, Grünschenkel, Kleinspecht, Krickente, Pirol, Schwarzspecht, Waldwasserläufer, Wasserralle, Wespenbussard, Zwergtaucher

Landesweit bedeutsamer ehemaliger Hochmoorkomplex mit Hochmoorregenerationsflächen, Moor-Schlenkenbereichen, Birken-Moorwald mit einem der letzten Vorkommen der Großen Moosjungfer in NRW.
