Other Site Characteristics

Gebiet in der aktuellen Überflutungsaue des Rheins, überwiegend ausgekiest, verfüllt, landwirtschaftlich genutzt, mit feuchten Grünlandbereichen, enthält Flachwasserbereiche und Weidenauenwald. Ergänzung zu 3.3.: Im Gebiet gibt es bedeutsame Vorkommen folgender Vogelarten: Bekassine, Blässgans, Flussregenpfeifer, Flussseeschwalbe, Großer Brachvogel, Grünschenkel, Gänsesäger, Kampfläufer, Knäkente, Krickente, Löffelente, Nachtigall, Rotschenkel, Teichrohrsänger, Uferschnepfe, Wiesenpieper, Zwergsäger

4.2 Quality and importance

Hohe Bedeutung als Überwinterungs- und Brutplatz für Wat- und Wasservögel der Richtlinie. Prioritär zu schützen ist der gut ausgebildete Silberweiden-Auenwald, der zu den wertvollsten Auenwaldrelikten des Niederrheins zählt.
