Other Site Characteristics

Das VSG umfasst die Lippeaue östl. v. Hamm bis Lippstadt sowie d. südl. gelegenen Ahsewiesen. Es handelt sich um einen sehr naturnahen, abschnittsw. schon renaturierten Auenbereich sowie einen strukturreichen Grünlandkomplex. Im Gebiet kommen folgende FFH-Lebensraumtypen vor: 6430, 6510, 91E0, 3130, 3150, 3260, 91F0

4.2 Quality and importance

Die naturnahen Grünlandkomplexe von Lippeaue und Ahsewiesen stellen in derVerzahnung mit vielen verschiedenen naturnahen Gewässerstrukturen einen landesweit bedeutsamen Lebensraum für zahlreiche Vogelarten dar. Das VSG weist bedeutsame Brutbestände von Wachtelkönig, Rohrweihe, Großem Brachvogel und hohe Rastbestände von Enten und Limikolen auf.
