Other Site Characteristics

Der Lindenberger Wald liegt westlich der Sophienhöhe. Er besteht aus 2 Teilflächen, die ca. 1 km voneinander entfernt sind. Das Gebiet zeichnet sich d. großflächige naturnahe Sternmieren-Eichen-Hainbuchenwälder aus. Auf Teilflächen stocken Nadelgehölze. Ergänzung zu 3.3.: Im Gebiet gibt es bedeutsame Vorkommen folgender Vogelarten: Mittelspecht, Rotmilan

4.2 Quality and importance

Restbestand früher großflächig vorhandener Sternmieren-Eichen-Hainbuchenwälder im Rheinland in hervorragendem Zustand. Relikt der ehemals im Rheinland verbreiteten Bürgewälder. Bestandteil (Trittstein) des Waldbiotopnetzes in der Bördelandschaft.
