Kiessee in fortgeschritt. Sukzess.stadium, von Fulda-Seitenarm durchflossen, im Ein- und Ausströmbereich Abbruchkanten, Kiesbänke, Totholzverklausungen. Angrenzender Flußabschnitt der Fulda rel. naturnah mit durchgehendem Galeriewald.

Älterer Auwald der Weichholzaue entlang der Fulda (mit Unterwasservegetation), großflächig junge (~20 J.alte) Bestände entlang des Seeufers, Rast- und Überwinterungsgebiet regionaler Bedeutung für Wasservögel.
