Talzug im Muschelkalkgebiet des Zweibrücker Westrich mit naturnahem Bachlauf in einem überwiegend als Grünland genutzten Talzug und Teilen der Talflanken im Wellenkalk mit Kalk-Halbtrockenrasen, Magerwiesen und Laubwald

Strukturell hervorragend ausgeprägter naturnaher Bachlauf m. Erlen-Galeriewald u. Hochstaudensäumen. An d. Hängen orchideenr. Kalk-Halbtrockenrasen, m. bundesweit höchster Bedeutung als Lebensraum xero- u. thermophiler Arten. Alte Acker- und Weinbergsterassen, alter Eichen-Hainbuchen-Mittelwald in guter Ausprägung Wassergefüllte Mardellen (Dolinen) und weiter Karstformen, einige Aufschlüsse im Unteren Muschelkalk
