Vielfältige Heckengäulandschaft im Kuppen-Dellen-Talzug-System des Nagold/Waldach/Steinach-Fächers mit geologisch/geomorphologisch bedingt vollständiger Biotopabfolge vom trockenen Rücken (mit orchideenr. Maggerr., ca. 10 % v. 6210) bis zur naßen Aue.

4.2 Quality and importance

Wacholderheiden, Trespenrasen und Obstbaumwiesen sehr hoher Diversität und mit vielen seltenen und gefährdeten Arten, Kalksinterquellen am Unterhang zur Talaue mit Fließgewässer und begleitendem Auwald, Naß- und Streuwiesen sowie Röhricht. Reiche, historisch entstandene Ausstattung mit Hecken, Lesesteinriegeln, tradit. Schafhutungen, Streuobstwiesen. Ungewöhnlich tiefe orographische Verzahnung des Muschelkalkes im Umfeld des Buntsandsteines, ungewöhnl. markante Muschelkalk-Schichtstufe am 'Egenhäuser Kapf'.
