Other Site Characteristics

Niedermoore und Hochmoor mit eutrophen Seen u. Weihern im nahen Umkreis von Bad Schussenried. Vielfältige Verlandungsstadien der Weiher, Schwingrasen, Schilfröhrichte, Seggenrieder und Feuchtwiesen im weiteren Umkreis. Erlen-, Moor-, Buchenwälder.

4.2 Quality and importance

Kleinräumige Konzentration eutropher Seen und Weiher und deren Verlandungsstadien. Seit jahrzehnten nicht mehr bewirtschaftete Moorwälder. Wichtiges Rast- und Brutgebiet für Wasservögel. Aus Weiherwirtschaft des Klosters in Bad Schussenried entstanden. Übergänge von Moränekiesen über Niedermoore bis zum Hochmoor.
