Other Site Characteristics

Tammiku loodusala asub Harju ning Rapla maakondades ning ala pindala on ca 380 ha. Kahest lahustükist koosnev loodusala on pea pooles ulatuses kaetud erivanuseliste ja mitmekesiste metsakooslustega. Lisaks esineb alal sooelupaiku ning poollooduslikest kooslustest sinihelmikaniite. Kaitsealustest liikidest kasvavad siin näiteks täpiline sõrmkäpp, lõhnav käoraamat, koldjas selaginell.

4.2 Quality and importance

Tammiku loodusalal esinevad elupaigad on sinihelmikakooslused (6410), allikad ja allikasood (7160), liigirikkad madalsood (7230), vanad loodusmetsad (*9010), vanad laialehised metsad (*9020), rohunditerikkad kuusikud (9050), soostuvad ja soo-lehtmetsad (*9080) ning siirdesoo- ja rabametsad (*91D0). Elupaikade esinduslikkus on hea või arvestatav. Loodusala elupaigad on sobilikeks kasvukohtadeks järgnevatele liikidele - kaunis kuldking (Cypripedium calceolus), eesti soojumikas (Saussurea alpina ssp. esthonica) ja püst-linalehik (Thesium ebracteatum).Nabala-Tuhala looduskaitsealaUnikaalne maa-aluste jõegede võrgustik. Tegemist on loodusliku nitraaditundliku alaga ehk avatud karstiga. Kartsialal voolab kaheksa maa-alust jõge, millest kuus avaneb Paekna allikajärves. Salajõgede kohal esinevad orud, nõod, järved, kurisud ja allikad moodustavad huvitava karstimaastiku. Nabala karstialaga on seotud neli suuremat jõge - Keila, Vääna, Pääsküla ja Pirita. Piirkonna suuremad karstialad - Nabala, Kuimetsa, Tuhala - on maa-aluste vooluteedega üksteisega seotud. Toitealaks on Mahtra soostik. Nabala karstiala kuulub Ülemiste järve vesikonda.
