Other Site Characteristics

Zona húmeda situada en la Bahía de Pollença, en el N de Mallorca, a poca distancia de sAlbufera, el humedal más importante de la isla. La mayor parte de las aves acuáticas que se encuentran en esta zona se desplazan entre las dos zonas dependiendo de la presencia de alimento o cazadores

4.2 Quality and importance

La nidificación de varias especies del Anexo I justifican su declaración como ZEPA. Existe una gran tarajal muy bien conservado. Es una zona importante de alimentación para el Águila pescadora y el Halcón peregrino.

Toda esta zona coincide prácticamente con tres zonas protegidas: la Reserva Natural de s'Albufereta, declarada por el Decreto 121/2001, de 19 de octubre (BOCAIB núm. 130, de 30/10/2001); la Zona de especial protección para las aves (ZEPA); el Area Natural de Especial Interés (ANEI) según la Ley 1/1991 del Parlament Balear.
