Other Site Characteristics

La de Tramaced, es una pequeña sierra de orientación Norte-Sur que forma un relieve sobresaliente dentro de la depresión circundante ahora cupada oir tierras de cultivo. La forman un conjunto de relieves turriculares que superan los 500 m de altitud, emplazados entre las comarcas oscenses de Monegros y Hoya de Huesca, en la cuenca baja de los ríos Flúmen y Alcanadre. Están formados por niveles de areniscas alternantes con niveles blandos de margas y arcillas que dan lugar a unas formaciones características (localmente "turrullones"), con cantiles que superan los 40 m de desnivel, y cárcavas. Es un ejemplo de las formas de relieve resultado de la erosión diferencial que tiene efectos más intensos en las zonas de debilidad y en los materiales litológicos menos resistentes.

4.2 Quality and importance

Las vertientes se encuentran cubiertas de matorral mediterráneo, cultivos extensivos herbáceos y leñosos y algunas repoblaciones. Alberga poblaciones de interés de rapaces rupícolas con varias parejas de Aquila chrysaetos y Neophron percnopterus y una alta densidad de Bubo bubo.
