Interesantes comunidades de dunas fijas: Iberidetum procumbentis y Asterolino-Rumicetum bucephalophori.

4.2 Quality and importance

Sistema dunar compuesto por dunas móviles y semimóviles, y unas marismas asociadas dominadas por juncales (Juncus maritimus y Scirpus maritimus) en muy buen estado de conservación. Junto a estos ambientes se levanta un macizo granítico (Monte Pindo) que destaca por su altura, 641m, y por el tono rosado de su granito. La playa de Caldebarcos-Carnota es una importante localidad de cría de Chorlitejo Patinegro (Charadrius alexandrinus) a nivel gallego.
