Other Site Characteristics

Modelado en cuestas que determina una serie de resaltes de areniscas rojas (bundsandstein) entre limolitas y arcillas. Presenta vertientes afectadas por procesos periglaciares que las hacen aparecer cubiertos de gelifractos. La zona ha sufrido varias fases tectónicas por lo que aparece plegada y fracturada.

4.2 Quality and importance

Límite occidental de la Serranía de Gudar, limitando bruscamente con la flora de Alfambra-Turia caracterizada por el afloramiento de materiales jurásicos y triásicos (silíceos) que contrastan con el dominio cretácico del territorio oriental de las Serranías. Enorme interés florístico debido a la influencia de los elementos de la Serranía de Gúdar y a la diversidad litológica.
