Other Site Characteristics

LIC de carácter estepario ubicado en la margen derecha del Ebro con una superficie aproximada de 618 hectáreas. Ocupa una pequeña loma sobre formaciones detríticas terciarias predominando las areniscas y arcillas, entre las cuales aparecen algunos depósitos de limos con una alta componente yesífera aportada por los afloramientos ubicados al sur de este espacio. Sobre estos limos se desarrolla un sustrato específico colonizado por matorral gipsícola, bastante aclareado por el pastoreo, y algunos pastizales de Brachypodium ramosusm. En la parte suroccidental aparecen calizas terciarias horizontales colonizadas por un matorral esclerófilo mixto principalmente compuesto por Rosmarinus officinalis.

Interesantes comunidades gipsícolas ligadas a acumulaciones de limos con alto contenido en yesos.
