Other Site Characteristics

Pequeños humedales situados muy próximos a la Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves de la Laguna de Gallocanta. La depresión de Gallocanta, es un espacio singular en especial por situarse en ella uno de los sistemas endorreicos más importante de Aragón. Genéticamente se relaciona con el hundimiento tectónico que dio origen a la depresión de Calamocha-Teruel y que data del Plioceno superior. Estas pequeñas lagunas cerca de la laguna de la Zaida, corresponden a pequeñas depresiones endorreicas de origen kárstico con aguas temporales que cuando se secan favorecen la precipitación de sales y la formación de finas costras salinas. Junto a las zonas cultivadas que ocupan parte del perímetro natural de la depresión, encontramos formaciones de Pragmites australis, junto con pastizales salinos mediterráneos y vegetación anual de zonas fangosas.

Lagunas temporales de carácter endorreico muy próximas a la Laguna de Gallocanta declarada como Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves. Destacan las formaciones vegetales ligadas a humedales salinos mediterráneos.
