Other Site Characteristics

Corredor ecológico entre los espacios Red Natura 2000 ZEPA "Llanos de Brozas" y ZEPA "Sierra de San Pedro". Está constituido alrededor del curso del arroyo del mismo nombre, que discurre en dirección sur- norte a traves del municipio de Herreruela. Los hábitats se corresponden con los típicos mediterráneos, formados por dehesas de quercíneas y matorral.

4.2 Quality and importance

En este Espacio se citan 9 elementos pertenecientes a los anexos de la Directiva Habitats, 4 de ellos son hábitats y los 5 restantes taxones. El hábitat de mayor abundancia son las dehesas de quercíneas, pudiéndose encontrar también retamares. Entre los taxones destaca la utilidad de este corredor para mamíferos, concretamente Canis lupus y Lynx pardinus, donde existen datos históricos de su presencia. Así como presencia de nutria y galápago leproso.
