4.2 Quality and importance

Enclave silíceo en la plana de Castellón, destacando por su singular paisaje y por contener una población de Testudo hermanii reintroducida. Contiene una excelente representación del hábitat "Querco cocciferae-Pistacietum lentisci". Tiene importancia para rapaces. Se localiza en sus límites el Forat de Ferrás (Oropesa), considerado el 9º refugio en importancia para los quirópteros en la C. Valenciana.
