Other Site Characteristics

En la ZEC se localiza el georrecurso Tómbolo y Cabo de Trafalgar, incluido en el Inventario Andaluz de Georrecursos. Se trata de un tómbolo doble, único en la costa de Cádiz, formado por oleajes de poniente y levante. Sobre este sistema se forman dunas muy activas.

4.2 Quality and importance

Destaca la presencia de sistemas dunares vivos en la ZEC: 2120, 2130*, 2250* y 2190. Todas son significativas dada su escasa representación a nivel estatal y el declive de sus superficies. Importante para Carduus myriacanthus. En la sección 3.3 se ha mencionado el motivo D con respecto a las especies: Crassotrea angulata, Littorina neritorides, Patella spp., Ammophila arenaria, Armeria macrophylla, Armeria pungens, Crepis erythia, Echium gaditanum, Limonium algarvense, Linaria pedunculata, pancratium maritimum, Cladostephus verticulatus, Fucus spiralis, Halopithys pinastroides, Halopteris scoparia, Plocamium coccineum indicadas en el inventario de especies relevantes de fauna presentes en la ZEC
