Other Site Characteristics

Sierra de Santa Eufemia se ubican a modo de islas entre el Valle de Alcudia (Ciudad Real) y el Valle de Los Pedroches (Córdoba), ambos caracterizados por un relieve de penillanura y un paisaje de dehesa de encinas de gran extensión superficial. La presencia de afloramientos rocosos, cortados, canchales, setos vivos, huertas y pequeñas parcelas de olivar, configuran un interesantísimo paisaje en mosaico de gran diversidad biológica.

4.2 Quality and importance

La Sierra de Santa Eufemia, al igual que la franja de Sierra Morena, alberga gran cantidad de especies silvestres, alguna de la importancia del lince. Desde un punto de vista ecológico, constituye uno de los parajes de mayor interés en toda la comarca de Los Pedroches debido, en gran medida, a lo abrupto y aislado de algunas zonas de la sierra de Santa Eufemia.
