Espacio que limita con la ZEC y Parque Natural Sierra de Baza, contituyendo un enclave importante como cazadero y área de dispersión de juveniles de diversas rapaces forestales y córvidos rupícolas, nidificantes en el mencionado parque natural.

4.2 Quality and importance

Importante para hábitats de la Directiva 92/43/CEE, en especial para matorrales de media y alta montaña (4090), y pastizales xerófilos (6220*), estando ambos ampliamente representados en la ZEC.
