Other Site Characteristics

La unidad morfológica predominante en la línea de costa del espacio son las playas, constituidas por arenas. En algunos tramos, estas playas presentan afloramientos rocosos superficiales que las caracterizan, dando lugar a conjuntos de rocas a modo de islotes en el mar.

4.2 Quality and importance

Espacio importante para los Hábitats de Interés Comunitario 1110, 1120* y 1170. La presencia de praderas de Posidonia oceanica son especialmente relevantes por estar situadas en el límite occidental del área de distribución natural del hábitat 1120*. También es relevante la presencia de fondos con dominancia de gorgonias en zonas donde la luz llega de forma atenuada y sobre sustratos duros (HIC 1170).
