Other Site Characteristics

Está constituido por un cono volcánico de escorias y lapilli y el campo de lavas sociado al mismo (malpaís). Presenta una vegetación poco desarrollada, aunque incluye diversas esepecies amenazadas y protegida,s ocmo Caralluma burchardii y Rutheopsis herbanica, así como una rica flora liquénica colonizadora de lavas recientes. Cuenta con una avifauna interesante, con especies como Saxila dacotiae, Anthus berthelotii y Lanius excubitor.

4.2 Quality and importance

Presenta una manifestación del vulcanismo más reciente en la isla, con conos y coladas bien conservados. Incluye hábitats de interés y especies incluidas en la Directiva Hábitats, tanto animales (Chalcides occidentales) como vegetales (Caralluma burchardii)
