Other Site Characteristics

Toivanjoki rantasoineen ja -luhtineen muodostaa linnustolle arvokkaan kokonaisuuden. Varsinkin muuttoaikoina alueelle pysähtyy ruokailemaan ja levähtämään runsaasti lintuja. Vuoden 2007 pesimälintulaskennoissa alueella tavattiin kaikkiaan 85 lintulajia, joista pesiviä oli 80.

4.2 Quality and importance

Valtakunnallisesti arvokas lintuvesialue. Suojelutavoitteen määrittely Kaikki tietolomakkeen taulukossa 3.1 mainitut lajit kuuluvat alueen suojeluperusteisiin ja kaikkien niiden suojelutavoitteena on vähintäänkin alueen merkityksen säilyttäminen osana verkostoa. Lisäksi alueen suojelussa ja hoidossa painotetaan seuraavia tavoitteita: Lajien elinympäristön laatua tai lajien populaatioiden elinvoimaisuutta parannetaan ennallistamis- ja hoitotoimenpitein.
