Other Site Characteristics

les couches géologiques affleurantes sont celles Crétacé inférieur recouvertes par des dépots éoliens issus de l'ère quaternaire. En très bon état. Modes d'action envisagés : faire perdurer la gestion forestière actuelle (futaie, taillis-sous-futaie). Maintien de la nappe phréatique pour l'Alnio-Padion et L'Orme lisse.

4.2 Quality and importance

Le bois d'Humegnil-Epothemont est très représentatif de la Champagne humide et est constitué de deux types de forêts juxtaposées : la chênaie-charmaie mésotrophe très typique, avec de nombreux Tillia cordata de grandes dimensions et la forêt riveraine à Aulne, Frêne et Orme lisse.
