Other Site Characteristics

Situé dans les crêtes pré-ardenaises constituées de sédiments jurassiques et infra-crétacés, avec grès, calcaires, marnes et argiles. Localisé au sein de prairies. Les gîtes de reproduction et d'hivernage sont principalement installés dans des bâtiments publics et sont connus des élus locaux. Les précautions à prendre leur ont été communiquées. Les territoires de chasse du petit rhinolophe sont composés de prairies bocagères .

4.2 Quality and importance

Les trois gîtes de mise bas de Petit Rhinolophe hébergent des effectifs importants qui témoignent d'une population en bon état de conservation. Parmi tous les sites de reproduction de petit rhinolophe de Champagne-Ardenne, celui-ci est situé à proximité et en relation avec les derniers sites de Belgique qui sont très menacés. Le maintien de la population de la vallée de la Bar en bon état de conservation peut permettre de renforcer les populations belges et enrayer ainsi la réduction de l'aire de présence du Petit Rhinolophe. Le site est composé de gîtes de reproduction et d'hibernation ainsi que d'un territoire de chasse.
