Other Site Characteristics

Gîte de reproduction dans le clocher de l'église de Orges connue des élus. Les précautions à prendre leur ont été communiquées. Territoires de chasse composées de prairies. Le maintien de la colonie est lié au maintien d'une proportion de prairies importante à proximité de la colonie de reproduction.

4.2 Quality and importance

Il prend appui sur le gîte de reproduction qui se situe dans le clocher de l'église d'Orges en Haute-Marne, Il constitue la plus importante colonie de mise-bas de Champagne-Ardenne, avec plus de 1 500 individus répertoriés ce qui correspond à plus de 20% de la population régionale et 3% de la population nationale. Reconnue scientifiquement en 2005, il semble que celle-ci soit présente depuis très longtemps dans cette église au dire des habitants qui l'ont toujours connue mais également à la vue de l'important tas de guano en place.
