Other Site Characteristics

Le site est constitué par le lit mineur (+ une bande théorique de 10 m de part et d'autre) d'un petit ruisseau affluent de la Vienne aux eaux vives, à forte pente et présentant des secteurs encaissés et boisés. L'Ecrevisse à pattes blanches nécessitant une qualité de l'eau irréprochable, un habitat non colmaté à granulométrie grossière et une ripisylve en bon état, les principales menaces potentielles sont celles pouvant affecter l'une de ces composantes essentielles : - qualité physico-chimique de l'eau : pollutions ponctuelles ou diffuses (rejets organiques ou chimiques entrainant une eutrophisation du milieu) , modification des régimes hydraulique et thermique (abaissement des niveaux, sur-réchauffement estival), multiplication des étangs de loisirs avec introduction d'écrevisses et/ou de poissons exotiques porteurs de maladies etc - qualité de l'habitat benthique et rivulaire : colmatage par des sédiments fins, suppression de la ripisylve (coupes à blanc), intensification agricole du bassin versant (percolation d'engrais et produits phytosanitaires), etc. Par ailleurs, la pêche à l'Ecrevisse à pattes blanches est totalement interdite en tous temps sur le département de la Vienne.

4.2 Quality and importance

Ruisseau qui hébergeait avant 2000 une population très isolée d'Ecrevisse à pattes blanches (l'intérêt du site résidait dans sa position géographique en limite d'une coupure naturelle entre le Massif Central et les populations de l'Ouest, constituée par la vallée de la Vienne).
