Other Site Characteristics

Les forêts de chênaies-frênaies des pentes représentent un complément au corridor forestier des 2 cours d'eau. Les populations de brochet (Esox lusicus), espèce repère du PDPG33, sont encore en bon état et relèvent d'un enjeu pour la faune piscicole retenu par la concertation des différents acteurs de la pêche en comité de pilotage. Ce site abrite aussi des stations importantes à l'echelle de la Gironde pour le Lycope inodé (Lycopodiella inundata) et l'Oeillet superbe (Dianthus superbus) A proximité de l'agglomération bordelaise, le territoire subit une forte pression d'urbanisation. Outre la consommation de territoire, dans le site ou à proximité, cela entraine des dégradations de la qualité de l'eau (physique et chimique). On note aussi des projets de création de grandes infrastructures de transport (LGV) et de leur amélioration (A62, TER) qui peuvent fractionner les corridors biologiques. Les parties amont sont menacées directement par des projets d'implantation de captages pour l'alimentation urbaine en eau potable en gros volume.

Dans l'aire de répartition du Vison d'Europe, le site composé de 2 cours d'eau relève d'une certaine importance dans la circulation des espèces depuis la vallée de la Garonne vers le plateau landais.
