Other Site Characteristics

Ecocomplexe des étages montagnard à nival. Bassin du Ribérot et Massif du Valier à relief et géologie complexe (mosaïque silice / calcaire) Ce site, de part son statut de forêt domaniale et de réserve de chasse et de faune sauvage, présente une faible vulnérabilité. Néanmoins, le risque de déprise pastorale pourrait à moyen terme constituer un facteur de vulnérabilité. Il en serait de même en cas de développement touristique non respectueux des équilibres écologiques.

4.2 Quality and importance

L'avifaune de montagne est bien représentée, avec, parmi les passereaux le Merle à plastron, le Tichodrome échelette et le Monticole de roche. Neuf espèces de l'annexe I sont données nicheuses dans la ZPS, parmi lesquelles : Gypaète barbu, Aigle royal, Faucon pélerin, Grand Tétras, Lagopède alpin, Perdrix grise sous-espèce hispaniensis. Trois autres espèces visées à l'annexe I fréquentent le site pour s'y alimenter : Vautour fauve, Milan royal et Hibou Grand Duc. Faune et flore des Pyrénées très représentatives et populations importantes. Fort endémisme.
