Other Site Characteristics

Massif calcaire accidenté et sauvage. Mosaïque de milieux naturels : falaises, pelouses sèches, garrigues et forêts. - régression des zones ouvertes pour cause de déprise agricole et de reforestation. La fermeture du milieu est un facteur défavorable pour les rapaces (milieux ouverts = territoires de chasse). - zone sensible aux incendies, mais relativement bien préservée depuis 50 ans. - fréquentation touristique intensive. - pénétration importante du massif par les véhicules a moteur.

Site d'importance Nationale pour la reproduction de plusieurs espèces de rapaces : Percnoptère d'Egypte (Neophron percnopterus), Aigle de Bonelli (Hieraaetus fasciatus), Grand-duc d'Europe (Bubo bubo).
