  • Abundance categories (Cat.): C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present - to fill if data are deficient (DD) or in addition to population size information
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation); VP = 'Very poor' (use this category only, if not even a rough estimation of the population size can be made, in this case the fields for population size can remain empty, but the field "Abundance categories" has to be filled in)

Other Site Characteristics

This site is situated in the northern part of Ioannina Prefecture at the border with Albania. It comprises a hilly area, covered with Quercus forest, small ravines, springs and streams, the mountain Dousko (southern slopes), a small freshwater lake Tzaravina and the Gormos river; Gormos rises in Dousko and flows through the area from Oraiokastro to Parakalamos villages. In the area of Delvinaki, the forest is composed of Quercus frainetto, Q. cerris, Q. pubescens and Q. macedonica and some characteristic species of the Ostryo-Carpinion association, such as Carpinus orientalis, Ostrya carpinifolia, Fraxinus ornus and Acer sp. Juniperus communis subsp. alpina forms shrubs in the area of Dousko mountain. Human activities include agriculture, forestry, livestock-farming, and hunting.
