Other Site Characteristics

The area embraces the largest pine (Pinus brutia) forest of Lesvos island, west and north of Olympos mountain up to river Mylopotamos.

4.2 Quality and importance

It is an important area for species of forested areas and breeding raptors. It includes up to 80% of the Kruper's Nuthatch population in Greece.
