Other Site Characteristics

The site is located nort-east of Ierapetra town, at the eastern part of Crete. It includes the the south-western part of mountain Thrypti with its peaks: Koufoto (912 m) and Katalymata (802 m).

4.2 Quality and importance

An important site for resident raptors and species associated with upland scrub. Species of concern include: Gypaetus barbatus.
