Its significance is increased by the fact that at such low height above sea level silicate rock grasslands are rare.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Specifikus célok: A szubpannon sztyeppéken, a védett sztyeppfajok állományát veszélyeztető mértékű cserjésedés esetén kismértékű, szelektív cserjeirtás végzendő a törpemandulás cserjések meghagyásával. A területen megjelenő akác, esetleg egyéb idegenhonos növényfajok egyedei eltávolítandók. A szubpannon sztyeppéken a fenti szelektív cserjeirtást 3-4 évente októberben kézi módszerrel történő kaszálással is ki lehet egészíteni. A szubpannon sztyeppéken a cserjésedés megakadályozása céljából pásztorló, vagy szakaszolt legeltetést szintén lehet alkalmazni megfelelő legelőállat sűrűség mellett. Az antropogén hatásra kialakuló gyakori tűzesetek megelőzendők.
