4.2 Quality and importance

Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő fajok/élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása, helyreállítása: Élőhelyek: Síkságok és a hegyvidéktől a magashegységig tartó szintek hidrofil magaskórós szegélytársulásai 6430 Sík- és dombvidéki kaszálórétek (Alopecurus pratensis, Sanguisorba officinalis) 6510 Fajok: Vérfű hangyaboglárka (Maculinea teleius) The site is a relatively sound, small but representative wet habitat in the Zemplén Mountains. It is characterised by smaller riverine and tall herb fen associations and a small hay meadow, which once occurred extensively on the fringe areas of the Zemplén Mountains. With the relinquishment of traditional forms of land use (extensive mowing) the habitat is being transformed. There is a strong Aricia eumedon population in the area (a Red Book species in Hungary), beside populations of Maculinea teleius and Lycaena dispar. There are, in some years, couples of breeding Crex crex, and the stream nurtures Lutra lutra and Bombina variegata here.

4.5 Documentation

The area is not documented. It was first described in a survey carried out as part of the Butterfly Monitoring Sub-program of the National Biodiversity Monitoring Program.

A vérfű hangyaboglárka állományok fennmaradása érdekében a vérfüves üde gyepek kaszálással történő fenntartása szükséges.
