4.2 Quality and importance

Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő fajok/élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása, lehetőség szerinti fejlesztése: Élőhelyek: 3150 Természetes eutróf tavak Magnopotamion vagy Hydrocharition növényzettel 3160 Természetes disztróf tavak és tavacskák Fajok: Réti csík (Misgurnus fossilis) Szivárványos ökle (Rhodeus sericeus amarus) Mocsári teknős (Emys orbicularis) Vidra (Lutra lutra) The lake was one of the many natural standing waters of Nyírség, which dried out in the middle of the last century. After that a reservoir was established in its bank. This lake has a poliphyletic origin. Different processes like river erosion, accumulation as well as the sand movements in Pleistocen and tectonic movements played role in its development. The main forms of utilization were the retting of hemp, cutting of reed, and fishing. The extensive reed cutting indicates the former lower water level, however the possibility for fishing shows that the area had a mosaic pattern, mixed with open waters. Since 1962 the water level has been risen with the help of a closing sluice, the mean depth of water at the end of spring, early summer is more than 2 m, creating approximately 70 ha surface currently. The storing capacity of the lake is around one million m3. The lake functions mainly as an inland water reservoir, but it is used secondarily for irrigation and recreation. The most important natural values of the lake are the floating bog islands, which have good biofilter capacity and seem to be well-tolerating the organic and inorganic loading. The closing sluice had favourable effect from the point of view of the natural condition of the lake. Because of the elevated water level, however, some of the natural littoral vegetation has died out or moved to higher areas while becoming poorer, but this damaging process was compensated by the fact that there is less chance for the stranding, rooting and the fast reforestation of the floating bog islands. The present condition of the lake is characterised by the dominance of open water, however there is a significant number of floating islands with different size. The smaller ones are actually sedge- and reed roots and rhizomes covered with other plant species, the larger ones are covered with reed stands with Marsh Fern, while on the largest ones alders and willows are growing. The alder forest and the willow-poplar groves of a stranded floating bog island origin on the north-east part forms a peninsula. In contrary to the islands, only the edge of its soil is unsteady, other parts are already stabilised.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Specifikus célok és végrehajtandó intézkedések: - A tó vízgyűjtőjén lévő szennyezőforrások felszámolása. - A tó és a tápláló csatorna mentén pufferzóna kialakítása, itt vegyszerek használatának mellőzése. A pufferzónában lehetőség szerint gyepesítés és erdősítés megvalósítása. - Szükség esetén a tavat tápláló kút üzemeltetése, stabil vízszint biztosítása. - Adventív plankton és növényevő halak (busák, amúr) állományának teljes felszámolása, telepítésük kerülése. - A horgászat révén szerves és egyéb szennyező anyagok tóba jutásának megakadályozása. Stégek építésének szabályozása. - Az úszólápok teljes háborítatlanságának biztosítása. - A mocsári teknős tojásrakó helyeinek háborítatlanságának biztosítása, beépítésük kerülendő..
