Other Site Characteristics

Sito caratterizzato dal pascolo alpino su substrato calcareo, posto lungo i versanti in esposizione favorevole, e da vegetazione alpina e nivale su roccia e detrito calcareo (calcescisti), nelle porzioni sommitali dei versanti esposti a sud.

4.2 Quality and importance

Unitamente agli altri siti del versante orografico destro della Valle di Cogne, è probabilmente in assoluto il settore floristico valdostano piu' interessante per la presenza di numerosi relitti glaciali, endemismi alpici e specie indicate dal libro rosso nazionale e regionale. La popolazione di Stambecco presente nel settore del M. Tersiva è un elemento di intresse in quanto si suppone che faccia parte di un nucleo originario, rilevante dal punto di vista morfometrico.
