4.2 Quality and importance

Zona umida molto significativa sia da un punto di vista vegetazionale che faunistico, riconosciuta a livello internazionale ai sensi della Convenzione di Ramsar, nonché Zona di Protezione Speciale (ZPS). Presenza di numerosi habitat igri-idrofili, grande varietà e ricchezza sia del corteggio floristico che della componente faunistica, con la presenza di specie di interesse comunitario e di specie apparteneti alla Lista Rossa Nazionale.
