4.2 Quality and importance

Sito di notevole rilevanza naturalistica per la presenza di habitat strettamente collegati tra di loro ed appartenenti alla stessa serie evolutiva. Si osservano, infatti, uno specchio d'acqua lacustre con vegetazione idrofitica caratteristica, paludi, boschi igrofili e mesofili. Ricchissimi sia il comparto floristico, con specie appartenenti alla Lista Rossa, specie rare e specie stenotope, sia il comparto faunistico ed, in particolare, avifaunistico, con presenza di numerose specie caratteristiche delle zone umide e di specie di interesse comunitario.
