Alcune campiture puntiformi riferite allhabitat 7140, sono da intendersi quale tipologia di habitat similabile all'habitat 7160: Sorgenti ricche di minerali e sorgenti di paludi basse fennoscandiche, con le caratteristiche indicate nel Piano di gestione.

4.2 Quality and importance

L'area riveste una particolare importanza dal punto di vista paesaggistico, soprattutto per la presenza dei ghiacciai della zona della cima Piazzi. La qualità complessiva della vegetazione del sito è buona e le modificazioni antropiche secolari hanno prodotto un sensibile arricchimento della biodiversità generale. L'importanza del sito risiede nell'elevata diversificazione degli habitat disposti in successione altitudinale regolare, tanto che la valle potrebbe essere assunta come modello di base per lo studio di modificazioni derivanti dal progressivo regresso degli usi pastorali.
